Well, this campaign has netted me my first complaints haha!

"I have just seen your advertisement in the latest Listener (October
18-24) and I hope you will withdraw it. That a wolf whistle is something
a woman wants to hear is 30 years out of date and was undesirable even
then..."

"Sadly, I am writing to express deep disappointment in the most recent marketing material received from Head Office for the “Be” promotion...I would like to express concern over the visual material and message presented here...feel the picture of this woman is inappropriate ...I would say to marketing, “just put a wetsuit on her,” but this would lessen the impact of the header...I would like to see this image pulled from the campaign; and I hope you will be more sensitive and thoughtful in preparing future marketing materials...."

So, in turn we have changed the image to the one below. Still works but not quite as fun hehe.

Busbacks are a great medium, but fitting creative around different buses’ irregular shapes can be a real challenge – especially those cutout LED screens where the route numbers appear. We turned that into an opportunity for our client the Auckland Energy Consumer Trust, by using the changing route numbers to get people thinking about the size of this year’s AECT dividend payment.
